HOSTESS

Reports to: General Manager/Manager-On-Duty

Summary of Position:

Welcome and warmly greet guests on arrival. Manage the efficient and timely seating of our guests to a table that best serves their wishes. Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all of our guest. Provide timely and accurate service. Assist team members in meeting guests needs.

Duties & Responsibility:

  • Warmly and graciously greet all guest upon arrival.

  • When possible, open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant.

  • When immediate seating is limited, record the guest names and number of people in party and

    provide guests with estimated waiting time.

  • Call out name and number of party when tables become available.

  • Seat guest when complete number of guest are present.

  • Accommodate special seating requests for guest whenever possible.

  • Seat guest based on guest preferences when possible.

  • Upon seating, inspect table for proper presentation and completeness.

  • Assist in clearing and cleaning tables before seating guests.

  • When seating guests, provide wrapped silverware and present menu to guest after guest has

    been seated.

  • Between seating promptly clean table tops, chairs and booths. Check floor and clean as

    required. Reset and arrange table top.

  • Relay messages to servers and busser as needed.

  • Answer phone in a professional manner stating your name and take messages when needed.

  • Respond appropriately to guest requests. Communicate guests request to server as needed.

  • General cleaning duties (side-work assignments).

  • Thank guest as they are leaving.

  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant

    as directed by management.

  • Other restaurant tasks as required by management.

Qualifications:

  • No previous restaurant experience required

  • Must be 18 years old

  • Possess organizational and multi-tasking skills

  • Able to work well with others

  • Be able to communicate clearly

  • Be able to lift, reach, bend and stoop

  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time

  • Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits
